A local man has lost his savings, super and home after a tense day on the two up with an 88 year old woman down at the RSL.
“She’s ruined me mate, she’s absolutely ruined me” reflected a very depleted and teary eyed Cameron Thomas (37).
The now deep seeded rivalry began innocently enough, Cameron saw on older woman holding up a 10 dollar note that couldn’t find someone to bet with.
“The suckers for it every year” said Marg O’Brian (88).
“I felt bad that she was being left out… I didn’t know this is how she ropes people in” explained Cameron.
Things escalated quickly and before long the both of them were withdrawing tens of thousands of dollars from the ATM.
“Ah yeah, Marg’s up to her old tricks I can see” said Trevor Van Deer (83) a friend and fellow local of the RSL.
It has come to light that Marg has used this technique for the past 12 ANZAC days and absolutely rinsed every last one of the sympathetic 30 something year old she’s come across.
“I just dug myself a hole that I couldn’t get out of” said Cameron.
The RSL has told The Advocate that within two hours of Marg walking away with all of Cameron’s savings, it had been lost to the pokie machines.
