Labelmakers may actually be less useful in real life than they appear in the store, according to a new report released by Choice Magazine.
The report claims as many as 60% of the well-made and often expensive machines find their way to the garage sale $10 table before running out of their first reel of tape.
Keen labeler Dale Pincher said his machine was still on it’s first set of batteries from 4 years ago.
“When I was standing in the store I just had all these plans for things to label, but when I got it home I printed like 6 labels and that was it.”
I labelled the cutlery drawer with “Knives” “Forks” and “Spoons” and a couple of nice big ones that said “EGG SHELF IS FOR EGGS ONLY” and “REFILL ICE CUBE TRAYS AFTER USE!!!” for the fridge but then I was just wandering around the house for ages looking for things to label.”
“I made one for my wardrobe that said “SHIRTS”, but I suppose that was a bit of a stretch because my shirts have always been there. I also made one for the second drawer in the kitchen that said “SECOND DRAWER” but even that wasn’t essential because it was clearly under the first drawer.”
“I think the last label I made said “LABELMAKER”, which I stuck on the shelf where I put the labelmaker. Guess I just got carried away with the excitement of purchasing a labelmaker.”
More to come.
