The coach of our great state has today hit out at the critics of Queensland’s Origin team.
Speaking to reporters this morning after selecting 3 debutants to do a job on the flashy southerners who have dropped their incumbent half once again, Billy Slater set the record straight.
“We are Queenslanders mate.”
With rabid Sydney journos then trying to attack him about the selection of 10 gamer Robert Toia in the centres, Billy laughed.
“You lot really don’t get it do you,” he mused.
“I’ve tried to tell you plain and simple.”
“He’s a Queenslander mate.”
“We are Queenslanders mate.”
“What more can I say.”
With the mouth breathers now foaming about Slater’s clear answers, Slater kindly took the time to elaborate.
“Remember when we selected the ‘worst Queensland side of all time?'”
“Yeah, remember how that went?”
With grimaces spreading across the press pack, Slater continued.
“We don’t bag our team mate, unlike you lot.”
“So that’s why we are backing the 17 Queenslanders we’ve selected to do a job.”
“Which I guess you guys just will never get.”
