American actor and businessman Mark Wahlberg has told The Advocate that if he was on the Malaysia Airlines flight out of Sydney Airport yesterday that it never would’ve had to make that U-turn over Northern NSW after a disgruntled passenger started making threats.
But as the 52-year-old lives full-time in Los Angeles and only ever comes to Australia for business or at the invitation of David Koch, the chances of Wahlberg and his family being on MH122 yesterday were slim to none.
“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” Wahlberg told our reporter.
“There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘Okay, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.'”
Mr Wahlberg’s comment have been criticised by passengers who were on the flight with some telling The Advocate that the actor doesn’t have the full story.
“This guy who went mad on the plane was actually a bit of a meataxe,” they said.
“And anyone who was around in the 80s knows that Markie Mark makes Hugh Bowman look like Buddy Franklin.”
