In exciting news from the retail sector this morning, it’s believed the nation’s most prized regional outfitter Just Jeans has rocketed back into fashion.

Located predominantly in rural shopping malls and Stockland supacentres across the country, The Advocate understands the same retail group that operates Jay Jays, Portmans and Dotti is experiencing a buoyant slingshot in sales all thanks to the latest outbreak in Dad-core fashion.

Alongside the resurgence of unstructured baseball caps, wraparound shades and the revival of the New Balance 990 silhouette, it’s believed Just Jeans has become the new store of choice for trendy teens that are keen to look like they know how to cook a BBQ.

Boasting a curated range of oversized, short-sleeved check shirts in toned down patterns similar to a Grandmother’s good Easter tablecloth, stocks in Just Jeans are reportedly sky high.

Speaking to local Betoota Mall store manager Miranda Tuggerah (38), it’s believed whilst the floor of the store is empty, online orders have been flooding in.

“We usually just serve Mum’s looking to kit their husband out for a polite shirt to wear to the theatre, but these holidays we’ve been overrun with online orders from local teens who just want to pay with AfterPay,” said Tuggerah.

“We usually have stacks of wide fit denim in the bargain bin, but all the young ones have been lapping it up!”

Asked whether the retail spike was mall wide, Tuggerah conceded that her store of functional Dad wear appeared to be the only one turning a solid profit.

“Nup, my cousin owns the General Pants next door and they are empty, he tells me they haven’t sold a skinny jean since 2019.”

“Meanwhile for me, it’s a ripper time to be in denim, even the flared fits have been selling!”

More to come.
