Appearing on local radio this morning, Opposition leader Peter Dutton told his favourite Dad joke to 1449AM breakfast crew, Stinky Greg and the Chimp, in his media team’s latest attempt to humanise him.
Speaking to Stinky Greg, Peter prefaced by saying he hoped that no “lefties” were listening because his favourite Dad joke would probably offend them.
Chimp, a 57-year-old chimpanzee, let out a loud scream that caught Peter off-guard and shook him up a bit.
“Is that thing OK?” Peter said.
Stinky Greg reassured him.
Peter nodded and cleared his throat.
“So an ISIS bride walks into a bar,” Peter giggled.
“And has to leave immediately because they are Muslim and can’t have a beer! [explosive laughter] And when she gets outside she refuses to assimilate into our society and refuses to adhere to our Australian values [explosive laughter] Oh sorry, Greg!”
Stinky Greg politely laughed but both he and Peter stopped laughing when Chimp let out another ear-piercing scream.
“What’s wrong Chimp?” laughed Peter.
Stinky Greg patted Chimp on the back and explained to Peter that the chimpanzee is a leftie and was offended by the joke.
Peter giggled and went to pat Chimp, too.
“No, don’t do that,” said Stinky Greg.
“He bit the top off Angus Crichton’s finger when he tried to pat him.”
