A young French Quarter couple have had to go back and start a movie again this week, after spending the first 15 minutes in animated conversation themselves.
In need of some light cheering up after a birthday party into a wedding over the weekend, the pair decided to roll out what looked like a quirky children’s movie.
However, after getting caught up in a meta animated comedy called Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers, the pair found themselves spiralling down in a thought-bubbly conversation.
“Who is that. I know the voice,” began girlfriend Clare, assuming boyfriend James would be able to just Shazam the voice out of thin air.
“Yeah, it’s ummmmmm, what’s his name. Ahhh, Hot Rod. Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” responded her BF in between mouthfuls of maltesers.
“Ah yeah, I know him,” said Clare, happy to settle for not knowing Andy Samberg’s name, but knowing the face who was playing the chipmunk Dale.
With that settled, the pair then moved onto trying to figure out the remaining characters in the dank live action/animated film.
“Oh my god, it’s Seth Rogen,” laughed James.
“And that’s the comedian. It’s Key or Peele”
“One of them, don’t ask me his first name.”
Clare then chimed in with a niche reference from home soil.
“I reckon that’s Bana,” said Clare.
“It has to be, it’s him,” she then continued.
Happy with figuring out the novelty voices they were enjoying, the love birds then actually wound back to the start of the movie to pay attention to the plot line.
