As she awkwardly sits on the couch and attempts to make conversation with her sister’s husband, Charlotte Torres can feel someone watching her with keen interest.
The probing, unwavering stare of her sister’s eldest toddler, Jessie.
Though she’s very much not a ‘kid person’ Charlotte seems to pique Jessie’s interest the odd few times she comes to visit, often being met with a ‘CHARLOOOTTTEE and a hug, which admittedly, does warm her heart a little.
But despite harbouring some affection for the loving toddler, there’s one thing Charlotte does struggle to deal with – the stickiness and lack of personal space.
In fact, Jessie appears to love nothing more than planting numerous sloppy kisses on her face and handing her numerous toy cars with what is possibly, the stickiest pair of hands she’s ever seen.
This is notably quite difficult for Charlotte, as not only is she highly germaphobic but it’s also not socially acceptable to push a sticky toddler away or make a run for it – leaving her with no other choice but to grin and bear it as she’s overwhelmed by the urge to rip off her skin and wash it under the sink.
Giving herself a respectable five minutes before excusing herself to the bathroom, Charlotte wipes the bits of yoghurt, snot and mystery fluid off her body while trying not to vomit.
