The knockabout bloke who moonlights at the Prime Minister says he’s feeling hard-done-by this morning after getting booed by fans at the Bathurst 1000 over the weekend.
In what should be friendly territory for Scott Morrison, fans turned on him as he hijacked the V8 Supercar event and tried to turn what is a special day for motoring enthusiasts all over the country into a circus of self-promotion and lukewarm enthusiasm.
Speaking to the crowd as he inducted Jamie Wincup into the Supercars Hall Of Hame, Morrison then took the opportunity to speak.
“How good’s getting booed at the fucking Bathurst 1000?” he said.
“Hang on, let me take a selfie.”
The booing has sent shockwaves through the Liberal Party this week, with many of them openly admitting that they thought they had the Supercar fan vote in the bag.
One local Supercar fan told The Advocate this morning that they booed the Prime Minister at the Bathurst 1000 because they know he doesn’t follow the V8s and be probably doesn’t even like them – which is fine, he says, as long as he doesn’t pretend to like them and reckon they’re mad.
“We know he doesn’t follow the V8s,” they said.
“And then you see in him the fucking puffer vest and the fresh hat. Nothing is more uncool than a fresh hat. On top of all that shit, he’s wearing brown fucking boots. Not even Baxters, the rich cunt’s clip clipping around in his RMs with his beige chinos on,”
“Mate, I reckon Julia Gillard had more of a passing interest in the Supercars. Tony Abbott would’ve rather drank paint than gone to Bathurst, I’m sure of that but fuck me, I voted for that lunatic, that’s for fucking sure,”
“I mean, who is Scott Morrison? What does he actually like doing? You can just look at the bloke and know he just finds sport the most boring shit in the world but pretends to love it. You knew Johnny Howard loved his sport but he was fucking useless at it. Just a woeful sportsman but he could run a country – at least in my opinion,”
