If you’ve watched one too many romantic comedies, chances are you’ve had a crush on Jude Law at some point.
There’s preppy rich boy Jude from The Talented Mr. Ripley, naughty lothario Jude from Alfie, zaddy Jude in Sherlock, and of course, Jude in his finest form – The Holiday.
Of her favourite movies to recycle each Christmas (half of which star Hugh Grant) local woman Tara Newton has a special place in her heart for The Holiday, which despite only scoring 49% on Rotten Tomatoes, is a favourite amongst rom com connoisseurs – likely, for its perfect mix of feel good moments, British accents and Jude Law not only sporting a scarf but glasses too.
In fact, so taken by this perfectly crafted rom-com character, that Tara has modeled her ideal man on his traits, right down to the perfectly tousled hair.
Though, unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely she’ll ever have a knock at her door by a sexy single father who looks like someone out of a Prada catalogue.
But a girl can dream.
Pondering if it was worth hanging out at a library or museum to find her bespectacled dream man, Tara briefly reassesses if she should lower her standards but chooses to ignore it in favour of holding hope that she too, will one day swap her sharehouse room for a cute British cottage.
More to come.
