All local woman Coleen Watts wanted to do was listen to some music. Not watch a short film.
It’s alleged the 23-year-old Betoota Heights local was listening to some music on YouTube, when the algorithm naturally took her through some recommendations that were surprisingly to her taste.
Unfortunately, as a lover of all things rap and hip hop, Coleen has found herself growing increasingly weary of a new music trend, which sees music videos either starting or being interrupted by a random scene.
To add insult to the injury, these scenes usually involve long-winded and unnecessary dialogue, which makes Coleen feel like she’s watching a movie and not simply trying to listen to a fucking song.
She spoke to our reporter about her frustrations, who doesn’t understand why she doesn’t just get Spotify Premium instead.
“I don’t know, maybe I’m just not appreciating the new art medium or whatever”, says Coleen.
“But I swear it’s almost every song now? Like it takes roughly two minutes for the actual song to start.”
“At least I can fast forward those though. The real kicker is the ones that just randomly stop halfway through. Like you’re jamming really hard and then WHAM, it fucking stops to show people shaking hands or talking or some one-sided phone conversation.”
“I swear it’s either an artistic vision that’s gone too far or they don’t want people to convert the song to MP3.”
“The only person who can get away with it is Michael Jackson’s Thriller video.”
“Or maybe Rihanna’ Bitch Betta Have My Money.”
“Now that was intense haha.”
