One of our small desert community’s most wealthy residents has lashed out at the Federal Government today after they’ve continued their hard line on China in theses trying times.
Wallace John Pearson, a semi-retired property developer, said his company didn’t donate thousands to the Liberal Party to be treated like this.
The 76-year-old owns a number of properties around town, including ‘Daytona’, a 16-bedroom mansion on the shores of Lake Betoota Beach.
As Mr Pearson’s primary residence is listed as being The Bahamas, he needs to sell Daytona before June 30 like many other ex-pats looking to dodge the changes to capital gains tax legislation.
Daytona is currently listed at $8.8m, which is way, way more than what it’s actually worth according to some coke pig real estate agent our reporter spoke briefly to this morning.
“I need an unsophisticated Chinese investor and I need them now!” said Pearson.
“Grrrrr! Stop being mean to China, ScoMo! You’re hurting everyday Australians when you piss off China. They’re our biggest export market, I think. Wake up to yourself!”
Mr Pearson’s plight has attracted little sympathy from the local community, with one unhinged local saying that he’d ‘delete Pearson from this planet’ if he was certain he’d get away with it.
“He’s largely responsible for the gentrification of the French Quarter,” he said.
“None of the locals can afford to live there anymore. Nobody can afford rent. Sucked in Pearson, I hope you get what’s coming to you.”
The Advocate reached out to the Prime Minister’s Office for comment but have yet to receive a reply.
More to come.
