An inner-city boomer on Bob Brown’s Stop Adani Convoy has lashed out at a number of Central Queensland supermarkets over their poor selections of cheeses this afternoon, saying they ought to be ashamed.
Betoota Grove man Oliver Taylor-Ross joined the brigade of bongo-slappers in Hobart some months ago and since then, he’s been marching back to his home state to send a message to Canberra.
Describing the conditions on the road as ‘atrocious’ and ‘barbaric’, the 65-year-old reformed Nationals voter said it paled in comparison to the cold section of a Clermont IGA store he strolled into shortly after lunch today.
“These people, these pro-Adani people, are savages,” he sighed down to phone to our reporter.
“If only they knew what we were trying to do for them,”
“But alas, I don’t expect to get through to them any time soon. The selection of cheeses at their local supermarket was simply unacceptable. What do they expect us to eat? Cracker barrel on some sort of Shape biscuit? Yuck!”
“What next? Smoked oysters with a box of Jatz? I’d rather see these Central Queenslanders jobless, hopeless and broke! If only they could see things my way!”
Our reporter then put the phone down on the desk and went out for some fresh air.
More to come.
