The South-East Corner’s construction industry are today reorganising their project timelines around the fact that they won’t be able to get a roofer on any sites for the next four days.
This follows a the news that a tropical low, formerly lingering off the coast of Cairns in the Coral Sea last week, has now formed into a cyclone.
Fortunately, the recently titled Cyclone Oma is expected to be of little concern to the already embattled North Queenslanders, having now moved out toward the South Pacific Islands.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecasters say that it is expected to stay in its current position, northwest of Vanuatu, resulting in an epic swell rolling through to the Southern Queensland beaches.
This most recent surf report indicates a lot of delays in work sites right across Brisbane and down to the Tweed.
According to recent report by CFMEU, over 95% of Australian workers employed in the roofing industry are also the type of blokes who will literally drop their tools and not go to work for days at a time if it looks like there’s gonna be some decent surf.
Local Goldie builder, Mick Peterson (55) says he knew a big swell was coming when he started seeing blatantly forged medical certificates showing up in the office.
