The Three Lions are in with a shot at winning this year’s soccer world championships.
That’s the message from Tino Munster’s friends and family this morning that hold one of those gaudy red passports.
On his way to the office this morning on the D45 bus in from Betoota Heights, the 34-year-old city worker was able to watch England’s captain and chief kickman, Harry Kane, score that penalty goal 19 times in 19 different pubs between Betoota and London – Europe’s most overrated city.
He was able to do so not because he is a magic man that can be in 19 different places at the same time, he was able to do so thanks to the unbridled power of social media.
Instagram stories, to be more accurate.
The Advocate caught up with Mr Munster a short time ago in the lobby of his office block.
“It certainly was an impressive goal,” he said.
“From what I understand. The other guys who scored penalties were also great scorers but I’ve noticed a lot of my pals, especially the ones in England, made a point of capturing Kane’s one,”
“Personally, it’s not really my bag. Soccer doesn’t jam my toast. I’d rather watch the Tigers systematically deconstruct the Suns to the point where they just give up. I’d take old the old Sherrin kickbacks any of the week. Anyway, boorie. I’ve got to back to it, have a nice day.”
And with that, the soft-palmed Tino waved goodbye as he started up the stairs.
The healthy choice.
More to come.
