Opposition Sussan Ley has this week proven that the Liberal Party are starting to get their grove back.
After a bitter split with the Nationals about Net Zero, the Liberals are reassuring the nation that they haven’t forgotten how to misread the room.
Speaking after the announcement that Australia would immenitenty recognise Palestine, Sussan Ley has slammed the government, claiming the Prime Minister is well out of his depth.
Shadow Foreign Minister Michaela Cash said the move emboldens Hamas, and that “All Australians should be appalled at the massive propaganda victory Mr Albanese has handed Hamas on a platter.”
While the move is in line with the overwhelming majority of the rest of the globe, and fairly inline with the majority national sentiment, the Opposition are apparently quite keen to turn it into more of a culture war then it it already its.
Speaking to The Advocate this morning, Ley doubled down on her criticism of the government.
“This could lead to a global terror state,” she said.
“From underneath tonnes of rubble and 60,000 dead bodies, Australia’s largely symbolic recognition of Palestine will empower them to wreak terror upon the rest of the world.”
“This will have devastating consequences, and is an attack on democracy, namely the one currently committing genocide.”
She then pressed The Advocate to condemn Hamas.
The Betoota Advocate would like to make it clear it condemns Hamas.
More to come.
