Australian Cricketer Tim David has today been officially recognised for his efforts off the field.

The Singapore born and Perth raised bat slinger has been lauded by a local community group for his efforts to improve the reputations of people with two first names.

Winning the All Rounder Award handed out by the Betoota Sociological Society at South Betoota Polytechnic University, the title recognises the work done by people to improve social issues for particular groups or causes.

Fresh off the back of another match winning knock in short format cricket for his nation, it’s believed Tim has officially made having two first names acceptable again.

Famous for not being trustworthy, the two first name community has long since faced prejudice.

With Craig David being the last mad c with two first names, it’s been quite a tough period for the group.

“Look, what Tim has done with the bat and in the field for his country over the last couple of years, it’s irrefutable,” said a spokesperson from South Betoota Polytechnic.

“He’s won so many games, and he’s now allowed the two first name community to walk a little taller.”

“While this award is a huge honour, it’s righteous recognition for all his work.”

Tim was unavailable to comment.

More to come.
