The great nation of America has today made a big commitment to the film and tv industry.
Fresh off the finale of Squid Game, the American TV industry has promised to keep the good times rolling in.
This follows the creators of the smash hit Korean show revealing there will not be another season of the show – but they are open to a spin off series.
Given the absurd global popularity of the Korean show, it’s pretty much as good as done that the platform with the rights to the show is going to want to go again.
“Yeah, there’s plenty more juice to squeeze out of Squid Game before it dies an unceremonious and undignified death,” said a spokesperson for the American TV industry.
“Every good show or movie needs an endless amount of sequels and new seasons.”
“And every good show or movie made outside of America needs an American remake to make even MORE money.”
“Which is why Squid Game ended the way it did.”
“Because we need to destroy it by making an American version of it.”
The inevitable Squid Game USA (which won’t just be a documentary about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan), will follow the bastardisation of shows like Kath and Kim, The Inbetweeners, Shameless, Skins and Wilfred to name a few.
“Hey, we made the Office better,” said the spokesperson for the US TV sector.
“That English one was weird and shit.”
“So maybe Squid Game USA will be better than the original okay,” they smirked.
