A popular cafe located across the road from a blood bank has reported a 500% increase in iced coffee orders this morning, due to a sudden influx of lavender scented gentlemen.
Dave Phillips, 52, co-owner of the Little Hen, a cafe nestled in Betoota’s bustling French Quarter, tells our reporter that it’s the most business his cafe has had ‘in years’, citing that he’d made a week’s worth of money in just one day.
This comes as Australia Red Cross Lifeblood yesterday changed the eligibility criteria for blood donation, now allowing gay and bisexual men, transgender people, sex workers to donate plasma in Australia without having to wait three months from the last time they had sex.
Which is great news for Dave, who reckons he sold up to 300 iced coffees before it even hit 1pm.
“I thought there must be some kind of Gaga event with all these muscly, chatty fellas everywhere”, says Dave, who comes from a generation where every nicely dressed, jacked bloke was perceived as gay, “almost ran out of cold brew!”
News of the business boom has quickly caught on, with talks of an F45 or Barrys being relocated to the empty space next to clinic.
More to come.
