A touring party of Poms, Scots, Irish (and a Welshman*, maybe?) are today trying to wrap their head around what lies in store for them over the next couple of weeks.
The British and Irish lions have reportedly called an urgent crisis meeting to try and figure out how they avoid getting clean swept by the Wallabies.
The ominous fate in the front of them comes after the Wallabies ruthlessly blew off the cobwebs and ran over the top of rugby powerhouse Fiji over the weekend.
In front of a blockbuster Newy crowd (who always get out), the Wallabies demolished Fiji 21-18.
From start to finish, the boys in Green and Gold hummed to a stunning victory, which bodes extremely poorly for the soap dodgers down under.
Struggling to put away Australia’s worst Super Rugby side, the Scottish and Irish Lions limped to a 21-10 victory over the combined Sydney Uni, Easts and Randwick 1st Colts team.
Speaking exclusively to The Advocate, coach Andy Farrell explained the mood in camp.
“Yeah, we could be in big trouble.”
“Big big big trouble.”
“They way the Wallabies played attacking footy, but clamped down in defence and didn’t let any Fijian wingers beat 10 players and run the full field.”
“It’s a scary prospect for us.”
“We will do everything we can, but we need to knuckle down to try and pull off a miracle victory.”
More to come.
