A local woman has been humbled for the day after she was forced to yell multiple times to get the bus driver to open up the back door.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon when Rachel Biggs (32) was on her way home.

“I don’t quite know what happened exactly, it was the same bus I take every year” explained a still shell shocked Rachel.

“All of a sudden the back doors wouldn’t open, I looked up at the bus driver and it was almost like I didn’t exist”

In a moment of panic, Rachel let out a yell to the bus driver hoping she could end the humiliation ritual.

After a brief moment, Rachel deepest fears were met.

“He didn’t hear me, I had to go in for a second yell”

Despite her second yell being noticeably louder, it was futile.

“At this point the entire bus was looking at me, the last few people were getting on the bus at the front and I knew I didn’t have much time until he would pull away and keep going”

Suddenly,  Rachel was miraculously rescued — By an unlikely hero.

Glenda Morris (85), a long time regular of the 438 bus route, let out a distinctive old lady yell.

“Back door driver!”

Instantly, the back doors swung open, allowing Rachel to get off the bus.

As she stepped onto the pavement, Rachel nodded silently to Glenda from outside the bus, forever indebted to the matriarchal power of elderly bus patrons.
