News consumers around the world have this week been stoked to see tensions flare up between two regional superpowers, while a global superpower shrugs its shoulders.

The conflict between Israel and Iran has escalated over the weekend, with Iran accusing Israel of striking civilian areas.

Israel, a nuclear armed country that is not a party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and has not accepted IAEA safeguards on some of its principle nuclear activities, has accused Iran of running a nuclear program that threatens its ‘very existence.’

That flare up between the two heavily armed countries has seen the international community plead for sanity and peace.

However, the President of the United States, a man who has a great track record of talking about being able to get international leaders to do his bidding, has offered up somewhat mixed messaging.

Saying that he hopes Israel and Iran can sort out a deal, he’s also said that they might need ‘to fight it out.’

The comment from the President of America, treating two hard line religious countries like a couple of 14 year olds with some steam to blow off in the school yard, has been resoundingly welcomed around the globe.

“Thank fuck someone’s sorting the situation out,” laughed a local man at the Betoota Heights business park cafe.

“Really good to hear someone’s hosing this whole thing down.”

“And good to hear that the war in Ukraine doesn’t exist anymore either.”

“This are looking up.”

More to come.
