The Australian men’s soccer team has this week done really really well.

In a huge win for men’s sports, the boy version of the Matildas are off to their very own World Cup.

The exciting development follows an 89th minute goal to Aziz Behich, who scored his first goal for the Maletildas in over a decade.

The win over Japan, ‘The Brazil of Asia’, secures the boys ticket to North America next year, in what is a huge result for the men’s game.

Technically they could still miss the tournament if they get folded by a crazy amount of goals next Wednesday against Saudi Arabia, then loss a two leg play off against another world cup hopeful.

That scrappy win did come after 89 minutes of nail through dick worthy football, which left many fans asking what the actual point of going to the World Cup might be.

“Doesn’t matter bro, the boys are going to be playing on the biggest stage,” said local men’s sports fan and advocate Alistair Hedge.

“And that’s something we should celebrate.”

“They got a really big crowd on a Thursday night as well.”

“We are seeing progress.”

More to come.
