A local man has invited people to say what they want about him because he’s of the firm opinion that Australians should have access to dental treatment under Medicare before we go purchasing any more of these nuclear submarines.

Speaking to The Advocate today, Brendan Goink said he recently paid over $250 for a clean and a check up. Which is a luxury many Australians don’t have.

“If we’re spending half a trillion on nuclear submarines and potentially another half trillion on new nuclear powerplants, I reckon we could lob some billions at dental care for all,” he said.

“I mean, it’s a bit of a funny cycle, isn’t it? We sell ore to the Chinese, they make steel out of it. They use that steel to make everything from skyscrapers to aircraft carriers. We need to then buy nuclear submarines to protect ourselves from these aircraft carriers made from Grade A Australian ore. There’s no other reason why we’re buying them? We are buying nuclear submarines to try and sink warships and drown thousands of teenage conscripts from the back blocks of Tianjin. It’s just silly,”

“When we could be spending that on dental care. Poor oral health can be so impactful on someone’s quality of life. The mouth is the portal to the body. If it’s gone to shit then you’re whole body can be fucked because of it. It’s honestly a no-brainer.”

The 58-year-old nicotine enjoyer nodded pensively when asked if he knew that The Greens had this as a key policy heading into the election.

“Yes but they carry on a bit, don’t they? Plus, Queensland is the home of the Greens now but we have to file in behind a Melbourne lawyer, which, as a red-blooded Queenslander, makes me feel ill. Victorians are strange creatures. I’m glad they live down there and I’m up here. Got a whole state full of arseholes between us,” he added.

“But yeah, mate, I reckon we need mental and dental on Medicare. Why not, it’s not like dentists are shy about spending money. Mine drives an electric Porsche.”

More to come.
