The Simpsons have done it again, it can be confirmed today.

The minds behind the Springfield show have once again predicted the future.

Famous for predicting things like the Donald Trump Presidency, the spicy cough saga and Lady Gaga playing the Super Bowl, the Simpsons have somehow foreseen the result of this year’s Ashes – some twenty years in advance.

Thanks to the work of an eagle eyed viewer who went back through the tapes, it has been confirmed that the Simpsons actually predicted the outcome of the 2023 Ashes.

In one of the more forgettable episodes, Homer and Bart actually discover the sport of cricket, head over to England and watch the Australian team retain the urn after the Fourth Test in Manchester.

In a weird twist of fate, Homer and Bart witness two days of rained out cricket, which leads to the Australians coming away with the spoils.

Of course, Homer has plenty of zingers about how stupid the sport is that you can play for 5 days and have no result – while Bart plays outside with the snotty nosed English kids.

It’s unknown how the writers of the show that sees the future managed to predict the washout, but to top things off, there is also an English media commentator who looks and sounds a lot like Piers Morgan.

More to come.
